Student Registration Dates: We are pleased to announce our student registration days for the 2017-2018 school year will be Tues., July 25 for twelfth grade students from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for tenth grade students 6:00-8:00pm and Wed., July 26 eleventh grade students from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for ninth grade students, 6:00pm - 8:00pm. At registration we will have a copy of your student’s schedule available for pick up, and you will be able to pay your student’s fees, tour the school, and visit with VRHS sports and extracurricular clubs.
We will not be having student yearbook pictures at this year’s registration event as we have moved those to the first week of school. We will send out the yearbook pictures and ID schedule prior to the start of the school year. Please note student ID's have changed in color to increase the security of the extended and off campus lunch privilege. If you are the parent or guardian of a junior or a senior student and would like to give them permission to go off campus during lunch - if they qualify - you will need to complete the following google form: Off Campus Form
Our incoming ninth grade students will start the 2017 - 2018 school year on Tues., Aug. 1, 2017. The schedule for this day will be released soon. Please dress appropriately as yearbook pictures will be taken on this day. All other grade levels will start their school year on Wed., Aug. 2.
Ninth Grade Health Screenings: All ninth grade students will be screened for vision and hearing during registration. Ninth grade students and any new students who may miss registration will be screened at a later date in September. If your student wears corrective lenses, please be sure they have them on during their vision and hearing screening. Also, the school nurse will be present during all registration times to address any questions regarding your student's immunizations, and medical needs such as health care plans and medications.
Paying Student Fees: In order to expedite the student registration process, we are giving parents the option of signing up for optional fees in advance. This will allow you to pay online via your parent portal account once the fees have been added to your individual student's accounts rather than waiting in line at registration. Paying fees at registration will still be available, if you prefer. If you do not have a parent portal account, please go to www.d49.org/parentportal.
Free & Reduced Lunches/Fees: If you would like to apply for free and reduced lunches/fees, please go to www.d49.org/nutrition. You will need to provide our bookkeeper, Courtney Wheeler, with a copy of your approved letter to have your student's fees adjusted.
Parking & Activities Passes: You can be ready for the school year by signing up online for parking and activities passes. The $50 parking fee covers the school year, and the $10 activities pass will get students into most athletic event. Visit Parking & Activities Passes to complete the form.
School Lockers: Due to the increase in student population, all lockers are assigned by Locker Application only. This application will be good for the 2017 - 2018 school year as all lockers must be cleared out before students leave on summer break and will be reassigned at the start of the next school year by application.
We look forward to seeing you at registration and on the first day of school!
