Attendance & Participation

Attend: District 49 encourages all members of its family, including students, parents, staff and residents to stay involved in the governing process by attending meetings. During regular monthly meetings, anyone may address the Board of Directors during an open forum, based on the structure of Policy BEDH

Open Forum: The District 49 Board of Education directors are eager to hear from the community. From now on, individuals wishing to provide public comments must sign up using the online public comments form. This form will open starting 3:00 p.m. the day before the meeting and will close at 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. Please check in on the large iPad before the meeting starts. Stakeholders need to check in by 6:15 PM and must be present to speak when called upon. If you are having any trouble with the online form, please call the Senior Executive Assistant at (719)495-1128 or email lanette.depaul@d49.org.

The Board will limit public comment to a total of thirty (30) minutes, with each individual comment restricted to two (2) minutes.

During the first 30-minute public comment section of the meeting, all comments must pertain to Action or Discussion Items listed on that meeting's agenda.

To ensure a diverse range of speakers at board meetings, priority will be given to individuals who have not addressed the Board publicly in the past month.
