Secretary Lori Thompson
A Colorado native, Lori Thompson has lived in D49 since 2001. She grew up in the Rustic Hills neighborhood and remembers when Powers was a 2 lane road!
Lori graduated from Jones Real Estate College in 1985 and has been a Realtor in the Pikes Peak region for 36 years. Between her and her husband, Larry Rodriguez, they have 5 children, 2 grandchildren and recently welcomed their first great grandchild.
Lori’s children attended Remington and Springs Ranch Elementary, Horizon Middle School and one of them attended Sand Creek High School. During their school years, Lori volunteered at their schools, donated to the Falcon Education Foundation and worked on various school initiatives.
A huge supporter of school choice, Lori’s now adult children attended private schools, and public schools in D-11, D-49 and D-20, as well as PPCC and UCCS.
Growing up in the Pikes Peak Region, Lori has volunteered with and supported many non profits to included Care and Share, Life Network, Reclaiming Hope, Boy Scouts of America and the Springs Rescue Mission. Her family members have served in the Air National Guard, United States Navy and United State Marines. The vast majority of her clients are active duty and retired military, and she has a strong heart for service members and their families. She has helped families from 22 different countries purchase homes and celebrated when they became citizens. She has even tutored some of them for the citizenship exam. She loves the principals of freedom and liberty enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.
Lori’s roots in the community run deep, and her goal as a new school board member is to encourage parental involvement, student pride in D49 schools and advocate for support for our teachers, para-professionals and staff.
