More than 580 runners and walkers participated in the 2019 D4.9k Run/Walk + Kid Dash at Falcon High School on September 14.
The event is put together by the District 49 Health & Wellness department and is one of the most popular community activities in the district. 2019 was the 3rd running of this annual event.
Rachel Duerr shared that “The race is a great way to bring together staff, students and community members for a healthy event. It would not be possible without our community sponsors and many volunteers. Falcon High School has been an amazing host and allows us to provide this wellness opportunity in eastern El Paso County.”
The Golden Sneaker trophy/award was a tradition started at last years’ event to recognize the school with the highest % participation. This is Stetson’s second year in a row winning the Golden Sneaker, they will receive $200 for their school wellness team.
