Team Members Make the Grade as Teachers of the Year
A distinguished group of District 49 teachers received accolades from building leaders, parents and students to move to the head of the class as their school’s Teacher of the Year for the 2018-19 school year. Nominees share common characteristics of leadership, commitment to lifelong learning and dedication to D49 students.
The Board of Education celebrated the top teachers during Fantastic 49 festivities before their regular monthly meeting Aug. 8. Each honoree received a plaque, and the board heard remarks summarizing their contributions in D49.

After selection as Teacher of the Year for their individual school, several honorees will advance to compete for the title of Colorado Teacher of the Year. The state-level Teacher of the Year award will be announced late 2019.
