Seventh grader Tyler Weeda, 13, blindly guides principal Brian Smith in compiling a peanut butter and jelly sandwich during a motivational assembly Feb. 28 at Falcon Middle School in Falcon School District 49. "Tyler couldn't see what he was doing, but he did everything he could to make sure we were doing it right," said Smith, raising excitement for next week's assessment testing, designed to provide educators and parents a picture of student performance. "My advice to you, next week, take your time. Don't leave out the extra details. Don't make a peanut butter sandwich that looks like this." The gymnasium filled with laughter.
