Springs Ranch Welcomes Kindergartners to the New School Year

kindergarten students Springs Ranch Elementary School welcomed kindergartners to the first day of their educational journey on July 31. Students and parents were welcomed by principal James Kyner and teachers to the building and classrooms.

"We are so excited about the first day of school. It is great to reconnect with our students and their families," said James Kyner, principal at SRES. "Every year is a fresh start and opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others. It is an honor to serve the community."

Following opening remarks and greetings, students joined smaller orientation groups as they met SRES staff and teachers. Followed by tours of their classrooms, library, playground, and lunchroom. Faculty worked together to help students learn classroom and school procedures to help familiarize students with behavior expectations for the school year.

“This is my tenth year at Springs Ranch. It’s so important that kindergartners have a successful first day of school and understand their expectations and enjoy it,” said Melinda Burnside, kindergarten teacher. “I love teaching kindergarten, it’s so rewarding, they learn so fast!”
