New PEAK Playground Promotes Student Success

A place to exercise body, as well as mind. A newly installed playground for students at the PEAK Education Center created just that. Students and staff celebrated their new activity area with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 30.

“Yes! The playground is open,” remarked many of the students.

When the Falcon Homeschool Enrichment Program moved to a new location last school year, the playground they raised funds for was relocated, too. This left learners at the PEAK Education Center without an outdoor recreation area and prompted Dean of PEAK Programs, Karen Sandidge, to seek options to fund a playground.  Thanks to Medicaid funding, a playground returned to the facility.

“The students and staff are grateful for the new playground,” shared Sandidge.  “It brings a new level of fun to our recess and outdoor time.”
