Horizon Middle School students performed in Seussical, the musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s books, March 9 at Sand Creek High School.
Students auditioned in December and started rehearsals in January, meeting three days a week after school.
Bethany Meyer, choir and musical director said, the students were excited to perform and “the theme throughout (the show) was not to be good but great.”
“It’s just been so fun to play this character because I’ve actually found out he’s a lot more like me than I think,” said eighth-grader Drew Smith, who played Horton from the book, “Horton Hears a Who.” “Just being able to come out every day and just be myself as well as my character, means a lot to me, “
Students from sixth to eighth grade participated in the musical, performing two nights on the Sand Creek High School stage.
