Springs Studio for Academic Success celebrated the Class of 2019 on May 17 at the Doubletree Hotel. Families, friends, District 49 administrators and Board of Education directors gathered for the celebration of 74 graduates.
“What a tremendously large crowd,” said David Knoche, executive principal. “Tremendous show of love and care in the room today.”
Over 712 visitors were there to cheer on the SSAE graduates for their commencement ceremony.
“The traditional path wasn’t working for me,” said Gwendallyn Lowe, class speaker. “When I chose SSAE, it was like a light turned on for me. I realized, we should not bend over backwards to fit inside the box, it was time we made the box fit us.”
“I think we can all agree senior year has been the most stressful of our high school journey,” said Caitlyn Chudzinski, class speaker. “As this milestone happens, I can’t help but be nervous, however it’s exhilarating to know there are infinite amounts of possibilities.”
After the turning of the tassels, graduates were led out to meet their families and friends to celebrate their milestone achievement.
