Team Members Thanked for Making an Impact

District 49 celebrated staff members who have made a significant difference to students and colleagues. Three teachers and one school secretary were honored during Fantastic 49 festivities before the regular board meeting March 12, for their dedication to helping and inspiring both students and fellow teammates.

Lindy Bachman, seventh-grade science teacher at Skyview Middle School, received accolades for providing the best learning experiences for students. “The kids love you … they love science,” shared Sean McGrath, the SMS colleague who nominated Bachman. “Lindy does so many cool things in her classroom … and she is a phenomenal leader.”

Kindergarten Teacher Nicole Juhl from Springs Ranch Elementary School was celebrated next. “Nicole has created a caring classroom, and she fosters each student’s unique individuality and helps each one of them grow,” commented Cassidy Bradley, paraprofessional. “As an aspiring teacher myself, I aim to be the kind of teacher she is.”

Kristy Sundberg, seventh-grade reading teacher at Falcon Middle School, was recognized for implementing modern teacher strategies to engage learners. “Kristy is open to trying new ideas and always makes sure students are successful by building strong, positive relationships,” shared co-teacher Carrie Clay. “She cares about all our students.”

To wrap up festivities, the board honored Melinda Snavley, attendance secretary at Meridian Ranch Elementary School. Snavley was described as the face of the school, and the welcoming voice for all students and families. “She takes great care of the school and is always willing to help out wherever needed,” remarked Sheehan Freeman Todd, principal. Snavley received accolades the day before beginning her retirement.
