It’s an exciting time in the iConnect Zone! We commemorated breaking ground on a facility expansion project at the Springs Studio for Academic Excellence campus Dec. 12. In Fall 2020, students who attend Springs Studio for Academic Excellence, Pikes Peak Early College and the Falcon Homeschool Academic Program will enjoy additional space at the innovative campus. Often times referred to as “Google meets Starbucks,” the open space concept and flexible learning environment that currently exists will double in size.

The project will add nearly 21,000 square feet of modern space to a thriving Springs Studio blended learning community. It will enhance the emerging coding academy at SSAE, provide modern science labs for our Falcon Homeschool Academic Program students and increase access to concurrent enrollment college courses on one campus.

Often times referred to as “Google meets Starbucks,” the open space concept and flexible learning environment that currently exists will double in size.

Offering a shared campus concept with SSAE, PPEC and FHAP makes both academic and fiscal sense as all uphold similar core values. Our programs have strong parent partnerships, flexibility for students and a unified belief that education is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. The cohesive efforts will take the iConnect Zone another step forward in realizing our mission to prepare every student through individualized, rigorous, community-focused and personalized educational opportunities.

Student choice and educational opportunities are essential to our community, and sharing a campus aligns with our emphasis on blended learning, concurrent enrollment, and homeschool academic support. The expansion project will enhance options for many students and families in D49.

We are grateful to District 49 community members, board members and administration for the support provided to make this a reality. Staff are excited to contribute to the development of new strategies, innovations, and a unique and inviting culture as District 49 continues its commitment to prioritizing a robust portfolio of schools.
