Mock Crash Focuses on Prom Safety

Colorado Springs Fire Department firefighters conduct a mock accident exercise in front of the school April 26. As part of prom week activities, Sand Creek High School students observed a mock crash April 26.

Firefighters from the Colorado Springs Fire Department performed extrication activities as part of a simulated crash in front of the school. SCHS students acted as mock crash victims, complete with makeup to simulate a realistic crash scene.

"I think this presentation is really important for students to see and understand the impact their choices can have on prom night," said Lauren Stuart, student council sponsor.
