Sunshine and blue skies welcomed the Falcon High School class of 2023 which gathered at UCHealth Park for its commencement ceremony.

Family and friends packed the stands of the home of Vibes Baseball to cheer on the graduating seniors. Following the singing of the National Anthem, and a few opening remarks, student speaker Gabriela Elder addressed her classmates.

“In the past four years, we’ve been going to school, learning, making some memories here and there, but as our time comes to an end, it’s time to decide how we want to live,” Gabriela said. 

Her speech covered special memories of life as an FHS student, and she encouraged her fellow graduates to boldly believe in their abilities. 

“Once you begin to trust who you are and believe in what you can do, you can do more than just live,” Gabriella said. “Outside high school we have so much more to learn. As Peter Pan would put it: ‘To live, would be an awfully big adventure.’” 

Falcon Zone Superintendent Brian Smith also spoke about pursuing life after high school to the fullest. 

“You have the ability to make life whatever you wish to make it, and you are ready for this,” Smith said. “You are ready and we are all ready to see what you will do next.” 

“I’m very proud of all of you and wish you nothing but the best,” Smith concluded, adding a final word to send the graduates on to their next journey. ”To the world, look out: the next generation of Falcon Falcon’s from Falcon are on their way!”
