VRHS Soccer Player Signs Letter of Intent

Twelfth-grader Joel Walker, 18, celebrated signing Dec. 15 at Vista Ridge High School. Joel will play soccer at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Sam Baldwin, athletic director, reported that Joel was the first soccer player in the school’s history to be selected as the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference player of the year. “I’ve never seen a kid so excited about soccer practice in my life,” said John Lupton, soccer coach. “He is one of the best soccer players I’ve had the privilege of coaching in 20 years.” Joel plans to study business and marketing.
