Students participated in a color run fundraiser Sept. 25 at Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning.
Clad in white T-shirts, they excitedly lined up by grade as a blast of color propelled into the sky signaled them to start running. The corn starch colored powder was tossed towards them by parent volunteers and students at various stations. They completed nearly a mile run down the Meridian Ranch path adjacent to the school.
“I became a rainbow!” said sixth-grader Emma Howard, smiling.
The PPSEL Parent Teacher Organization sponsored the run as their big fundraiser for the year. There was an entrance fee, and donors pledged for the students who participated. Principal Don Knapp said the run incorporated PPSELS holistic program, keeping students active and incorporating physical education as a life skill.
