C. Jeffrey Nunnally, author of “This House Needs a Mouse,” reads his book to third graders Jan. 28 at Springs Ranch Elementary School in District 49. During his visit, Nunnally spoke to students about ideas and story development. “I believe that all of you are writers,” said the first-time author.

“It’s really about inspiring,” he said, sharing his creative process, and showing the students his writer’s notebook, which was filled with ideas. He then helped the students brainstorm ideas for stories of their own.

“Take these ideas, go do something with them.”
