The first day for new and returning students at Ridgeview Elementary School began on August 2, 2019. They arrived to warm welcome complete with a high-five at the front door.
This year, Kim Moore stood by the front door greeting students as the building’s new Principal."Ridgeview is a great school built upon strong relationships with students, parents, and staff," shared Moore. "It is my goal to leverage those relationships to provide a high-quality education for our students." Moore said she will build on her experience teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels, and most recently as the RVES assistant principal to serve in her new leadership role.“It is my goal to build upon the strong foundation that has been established at Ridgeview. We have an exceptionally strong staff and a supportive community.”
Ridgeview enters SY 19-20 as a two-time Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase school. RVES has also earned High Reliability Schools certification for Level 1 and 2 (Marzano). “My goal is to continue building trusting relationships with our school community,” Moore explained. “Together we can foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.”
RVES is among D49 schools using CKH philosophy to create a safe and supportive learning environment of mutual respect for everyone in the school. Hundreds of schools nationally apply to receive showcase recognition. The few schools chosen are selected for their genuine approach to creating sincere relationships between staff and students.
“Being named a Capturing Kids’ Heart National Showcase school for the second year in a row is a great honor,” Moore said. “It recognizes the dedication of our staff and students in creating a mindset of the community. If you have a child’s heart, you have a child’s mind, and our staff truly believes this.”
