Students were moving, singing, cheering and laughing Oct. 9 during a pride assembly Oct. 9 at Evans International Elementary School in District 49.
Principal Michelle Slyter says the assembly is an opportunity to celebrate school pride and recognize children making good choices, while combining lessons within the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
During the event, students from kindergarten through fifth grade received recognition and medals for various academic qualities, including leadership, respect, commitment and knowledge, as well as creative and critical thinking skills.
