HMS Honored for Impact in School Environments, Student Achievement
Horizon Middle School was honored during “Fantastic 49” recognition Feb. 12, ahead of a monthly Board of Education meeting in District 49.
Several teachers, part of the school’s Jostens Renaissance committee, explained their progress in celebrating student achievement throughout the school year.
The committee members explained how the Renaissance program helps deliver positive change in school environments. They’ve been able to boost academics, participation and engagement, while integrating excitement, appreciation and energy.
Kim Miller, a humanities teacher, explained rising levels of school pride. Linda Rogers, also a humanities teacher, described heightened levels of academic motivation.
