49 Voices: The D49 Podcast
The School District 49 Communications Office is thrilled to announce our latest effort into sharing the story of D49. We proudly invite you to listen to, or download 49 Voices: The D49 Podcast, available now on major podcast directories and at www.d49.org/49voices.
D49 is joining a growing list of school districts nationwide venturing into podcasting. As we spotlight the people and programs of our district through this method of long-form storytelling, listeners will get a clear sense of why we say D49 is the Best Choice to Learn, Work and Lead.
In our first episode, hosted by David Nancarrow D49 director of communications, we get to know Peter Hilts, D49’s Chief Executive Officer. You’ll hear how he spends his days serving the students, families and the workforce of the fastest growing district in the state of Colorado. His is a story of passion for educating young learners on their chosen pathway to success. While not deeply engaged with his duties as CEO, you may find Peter skillfully eluding bears while sport-fishing in Alaska (true story) and criss-crossing the country to fulfill another of his passions: Fatherhood.
IN THE EPISODES THAT FOLLOW,
Mr. Hilts will take over hosting duties leading discussions that will inform and engage all listeners. In episode 2 we welcome KXRM FOX21 Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister who will explain the science behind reporting the weather in the Pikes Peak region which boasts a multitude of distinct regional climates. Because D49 operates during the fall and winter, these factors can have a significant impact on day-to-day district operations. Mr. Hilts will dig into the complexity of our forecast, why we have close partnerships with local meteorologists….and the joy of snow days.
Episode 2 drops when we return from the holiday break.
Look for 49 Voices wherever you find your podcasts. We hope you enjoy listening to each episode as much as we enjoy producing them!
