Sparkling Results from Denim & Diamonds Event
A favorite D49 event made its comeback on April 22. The D49 workforce family and community sponsors kicked up their heels and gathered for the Falcon Education Foundation (FEF) fundraising event at Boot Barn Hall with a theme of “Denim & Diamonds.”
Thanks to generous sponsors and bidders in the live auction, the event brought in more than $37,000. “After not hosting our annual event for the last two years, we were extra excited to get everyone together to raise funds for our students and teachers, and to celebrate the hard work of all D49 staff members,” said Kayla Maldonado, FEF president.
The foundation raises money to fund teacher mini-grants and student scholarships, and to help pay for expenses for the 3.75 GPA events that honor the district’s top graduating seniors.
Since the foundation’s inception 20 years ago, more than $500,000 has been presented to District 49 teachers and students.
The event featured local musicians, Just Dance Band, for a concert and dancing after dinner and a live auction.
A big thank you goes out to all organizations who sponsored the event:
The Foundation for Educational Excellence, Sentinel Technologies, Bryan Construction, DLR Group, Nunn Construction, Reichert Mortgage Team, Air Academy Federal Credit Union, GE Johnson Construction Company, GH Phipps, RBC Capital Markets, OfficeScapes, Miller Farmer Law, Strata Group, Stifel, Stratus IQ and Wember.
