Solid Recognition for VRHS Strength, Conditioning Program

Coach Louden and VR athletes

A national organization is taking notice of a training program and athletes at Vista Ridge High School. The National Strength and Conditioning Association has named Vista Ridge as a High School Program of Excellence and a Strength of America Award recipient.

The Program of Excellence designation acknowledges programs that operate at the highest level of professionalism by displaying excellence in safety, quality and outreach.

The Strength of America Award honors high schools for superior education, programs and facilities.

Vista Ridge’s strength and conditioning high school program is one few in the region and is led by Coach Justin Loudon.

“Our vision is to develop maximum opportunity for students to engage in a lifetime of athletic movement, and to mentor well-rounded individuals using scientific strength and conditioning principles,” said Loudon.

In addition to the program receiving accolades, four student-athletes were honored with All-American Awards.

Tyson Monck: Junior, Basketball Player

Heila Pearson: Junior, Fencer

Patrick Sheehan: Senior, Football Player and Cheerleader

Baylea Larson: Senior, Cheerleader

The All-American Award for students recognizes those with athletic accomplishments that reflect their strength training and conditioning. Their determination to improve in athletics, while maintaining academics, is an exemplary model for all student-athletes.

Congratulations to Coach Loudon and the four VRHS athletes!
