The Falcon High School Class of 2022 gathered together on Thursday, May 26, at UCHealth Park with family and friends to receive their diplomas during their graduation ceremony.
Principal Darryl Bonds spoke about the accomplishments and the high grades this class had compared to others. “This class proves that it isn’t the grading system, it’s the attitude of the students.”
Brynn Benham, summa cum laude, addressed her classmates. “We have learned a lot about ourselves during these times. We learned how to be flexible with all the schedule changes, independent, creative. We have learned strength and resiliency. But we didn’t do it alone. Our friends, teachers, parents, siblings, and coaches, have all been here to support us and guide us. I ask you to think about the people in your life that have been the most influential in the last four years, and thank them. A simple show of gratitude does so much.”
Sue Holmes, Falcon Zone superintendent, continued the theme of gratitude. “I challenged you to focus on gratitude each and every day so that you can say, ‘life is good.’ Congratulations Class of 2022. Go out and live the good life.”
“We’ve made it. But it is not the end. Nor are we done yet,” Aillen Banda Rosas, summa cum laude, told her class. “This is a beginning. We have finished the first race. Now it is time to go on to the next.”
“Whatever your plans, may you continue learn, grow and find contentment as you find your place in this world.” Connie Michaels-Lipp, FHS teacher, had the honor of leading the turning of the tassels for the 270 graduates. “The turning of the tassels signifies your transition from candidates to graduates. Let’s make this official.”
