At its meeting on February 22, 2023, the D49 Board of Education voted to establish a single-leader model for District 49. As a result, the Board will directly supervise one administrative leader, with the job title of superintendent.

During the Wed., March 22 meeting, the BoE unanimously approved McPherson & Jacobson–an executive search firm with expertise in the public education sector– to oversee the superintendent candidate search process.
