Firebirds Scorch Cheyenne Mountain Junior High to Win League Championship

The Falcon Middle School Firebirds football team soared to success and won the Tri-County League Championship Oct. 7 against Cheyenne Mountain Junior High. The Firebirds were victorious with a score of 46-16. The game was played on the field at Cheyenne Mountain High School.

The team suffered only one loss all season. “When you work hard, you earn success,” Rich Billingsley, head coach, said to his players.

 

“We are so proud of the Firebird Team. The effort they put into all of their practices and games throughout the season was outstanding,” stated Brian Smith, executive principal – Firebird Nation. “They fought hard all season.”

 

Firebird fans showed up in big numbers to support their team. The student athletes leveraged their encouragement. “Firebirds always run to victory,” shared Tyler Farrar, 13, eighth grader.
