Mini Courses Provide Peek at Possible Pathways

Each year, prior to Thanksgiving break, Falcon Middle School students participate in mini courses. Students choose a different course for each day or immerse themselves in a two day course that spans both days.

Firebird nation uses mini courses as an opportunity to explore interests students have learned about as they begin to travel their unique pathway toward graduation. The courses span all types of interests and relate to various future careers or upper level course work students could take in their future.

Kendra Ramirez, FMS math instructor and former broadcaster, provided a Nov. 17 overview to broadcasting and a tour of the Cumulus Media radio cluster and KOAA-TV News 5 in Colorado Springs.
