Back-to-School Announcements

  • The new school year is almost here! We are excited to be welcoming back returning students, and we look forward to making the new kindergartners part of the Stetson Elementary family. Starting kindergarten is a big milestone, and we'd like to share some important information with you regarding kindergarten.

    Important Kindergarten Dates to Remember:

    Tues., Aug. 1 - Students will be assigned a specific time for beginning-of-the-year testing. Be on the lookout for a postcard with your assigned time.

    Wed., Aug. 2
    - Students will be observed this day before placing them in a classroom. Classes will be assigned by the end of the day when you will receive a phone call with your student's teacher's name.

    Thurs., Aug. 3
    - Parents and students will attend a classroom orientation. Students with a last name starting with A - M should plan to attend the session from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Students with a last name starting with N - Z should plan to attend 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. This is the day you can bring supplies to school.

    Fri., Aug. 4
    - First official day of school for kindergartners!

  • Free Sports-School Physicals for Military Connected Students - Active duty and retired military families are invited to start the school year of strong with free sports and school physicals for students ages 4-21. Physicals will be provided at the Warrior Family Medical Clinic at Evans Army Community Hospial on Fort Carson. Bring ID cards for sponsor and children age 10 or older and any immunization records with you. Call the Access to Care line at (719) 524-2273 to set up an appointment. Available dates and times:

    Saturday, July 22: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    Saturday, Aug. 5: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
