PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE
On Thursay, April 18th, the Sand Creek Zone held their annual Health and Wellness Expo at SCHS held simultaneously with the Zone Art Expo.
Sand Creek Student Council started their morning early at Remington Elementary on Tuesday, February 26th to honor their staff by cooking a pancake breakfast.
Parents, Teachers and Staff from District 49 joined local community experts to learn more about social and emotional wellness for themselves and thier students. Five breakout sessions were offered which included Love and Logic, Signs of Suicide, Cyber Bullying, Coping Skills, and Yoga.
Paul Beyer, a senior at SCHS, went out of his way to ensure that community members had what they needed, when visiting the building, being kind to those in need, and going above and beyond his duties as a student.
Team members and students work hard every day to make District 49 the “Best Choice to Learn, Work and Lead.” During the June 13 Fantastic 49 festivities, the Board of Education recognized a group of honorees for their commitment to leading in D49.
Thanks to partnerships with local military installations, D49 students with parents who serve in the armed forces have programs available made just for them. During Fantastic 49 festivities Dec. 13 before the regular monthly Board of Education meeting, Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base and Schriever Air Force Base were honored for their collaborative support of District 49.
If a D49 student needed something fun to do during summer break, all they had to do was ask someone in, of all departments, nutrition services. Michelle Suggs and Sophie Bettendorf made that part of their commitment to the D49 summer meal program, which also made them Fantastic 49 honorees for October.
Seventeen D49 teachers received accolades from principals, and recommendations from students and parents to prompt selection as their school’s Teacher of the Year.
There is a MANDATORY Athlete Parent Meeting for anyone playing a fall sport on August 20th at 6pm in the Auditorium.
Please note: when dropping a class with a fee or leaving a sport before the end of its season:
