Seventeen D49 teachers received accolades from principals, and recommendations from students and parents to prompt selection as their school’s Teacher of the Year.
Ridgeview Elementary School picked up right where it left off on the last day of school before the start of summer break. On the first day of school, Friday, August 3, Andrea Aragon, RVES assistant principal, greeted every student at the front door.
Nearly 400 fourth and fifth-graders from 10 schools across D49 participated at the all-district track meet May 17 at Falcon High School. Students were gathered together to practice physical education skills learned throughout the year and to experience competition.
District 49 students and staff members were honored for their achievements in the district prior to the regular monthly Board of Education meeting April 12.
An emotionally safe and caring culture is the heart of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts program. That environment is seen every day at Ridgeview Elementary School, and it’s the commitment of staff that earned the school a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School Award for the 2017-18 school year.

Sandi Esparsen, Falcon Education Foundation secretary, receives a plaque of appreciation from District 49 Board of Education President Nov. 9 after awarding just under $31,000 to educators across District 49 for innovative and unique learning opportunities.
Aaron Pitch, 10, fifth grader sings his solo to "American Tears" during the fifth grade hosted patriotic performance of the musical “A Celebration of Our Country” Nov.9 at Ridgeview Elementary School. Directed by Katie Stafford, music teacher, the musical was homage to veterans to celebrate and honor their service.
Students at Ridgeview Elementary School recently took their mission of community service to heart. With a “Round Up Change for Texas” campaign, students brought in spare change Sept. 18 - 22 for a school in Orange, Texas that had been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Cold, wet and snowy weather began moving into our area this evening and will likely continue through much of the night into Wednesday morning. Due to these conditions, District 49 is on a two-hour delay for Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018. Falcon High School will be on an E-learning day schedule.
