Schmidt Resigns from D49 Board of Education

Deb Schmidt, member of the School District 49 Board of Education serving Director District 2, announced her resignation Tuesday, February 24, to honor commitments to her family. Ms. Schmidt has held the position since her successful election in 2023. The BoE is grateful for her dedicated service to the D49 community. 

A special meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, to declare the vacancy in Director District 2. Information regarding the application process required to fill the open position will be available once the vacancy has been declared. We will provide updates on the search for Ms. Schmidt’s replacement on our regular communication channels.
