PEAK Education Center Playground Ribbon Cutting
PEAK Education Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, August 11 for their updated playground.
The new equipment gives the playground a fresh and exciting look, adding swings, slides, and other features that make it accessible for all PEAK learners. Program leaders noted the attention and care of Dr. Nancy Lemmond, Deputy Superintendent, Executive Director of Individualized Education, played a crucial role in bringing the playground to the PEAK campus. The D49 Facilities team worked closely with contractors over the summer to complete the upgrades ahead of the new school year.
Liam, a student at PEAK said, “It’s really fun! It’s got these really good slides, these yellow and purple climbers you can use to climb up to places or to hold your balance.”
With emotion creeping into her voice, Karen Sandidge, Dean of PEAK programs, said, “It makes my heart jump with joy when I see all kids in our program be able to be on the playground having fun. Chokes me up. It's a big deal.”
