Fantastic 49 Honorees Demonstrate Excellence

Fantastic 49 Honorees Demonstrate Excellence

MaximizeDistrict 49 hosted November’s Fantastic 49 celebration on November 6 before the monthly Board of Education meeting.

The first honoree of the evening was Kadie Murray, kindergarten teacher at Bennett Ranch Elementary.

“Every time I go into Katies classroom, she just blows me away with her willingness to go above and beyond what most teachers do, to ensure every student in her classroom is included,” said Shauna Anderson, special education instructional coach.

Murray redesigns lessons, rethinks classroom systems, and goes the extra mile help her students with significant learning challenges make academic progress and gain a sense of belonging.

The second honoree was Sarah Luce, math teacher at Vista Ridge High School.

“She is so brilliant, and she has so many fantastic ideas,” said Tom Payne, principal. “She is such the teacher leader.”

Luce was instrumental in the rollout of “Wolf Time”, an intervention period aimed at making sure no student falls through the cracks. She is the definition of a teacher leader who wants to see her students and peers succeed.

Fantastic 49 is the district’s recognition program that celebrates fantastic staff, students, and community members before the board of education meetings. A sincere thank you to our sponsors, Air Academy Federal Credit Union, Dion’s, and to Raising Cane's.
