Before the first bell rings and backpacks are zipped, District 49’s transportation team is already in motion—starting their engines, completing safety checks, and preparing to greet students with a smile.

Both new drivers spent the summer training—learning safety protocols, mastering bus routes, and preparing for the most important job of all: building trust with the students they serve.

On their first official day, they experienced the joy and jitters right alongside the kids, welcoming bright-eyed students and helping launch the school year one ride at a time.

District 49’s drivers are more than transportation—they’re mentors, protectors, and the first connection students make each morning.
