Board of Education Interviews Applicants for Director District 2
Candidates answering interview questions from board of education

The School District 49 Board of Education interviewed community members applying to fill the vacant seat in Director District 2 at the Campus Thursday, April 16. The seat was previously held by Deb Schmidt, who stepped down in February.

The group of five applicants included: Carter Bullion, Candice Lehmann, Bob Felice, Jack Ryan and Holly Bombria. Read more about them on the Director District 2 applicants page.

Applicants answered questions prepared by the board in round-robin style, each getting an opportunity to respond. Members of the Student Board of Representatives also stepped to the podium to press the panel on topics that matter to their peers.

Following the interview process, the board will hold a special meeting on April 20 at 7:00 p.m. to determine which candidate to appoint to fill the open seat. The appointee will be sworn in April 22, 2026, prior to the work session.
