The Campus visits Flying Pig Farm

Students from The Springs Studio for Academic Excellence and Pikes Peak Early College ventured to the Flying Pig Farm for a hands-on field trip to apply classroom skills in an outdoor setting to deepen their understanding of land conservation, resource management, and food production.

The farm serves over 1,500 students annually and applies math, agriculture, biology, and horticulture principles to the tour and activities.

"I'm excited that students are coming to me and sharing with me the things they've found. I hope that excitement perpetuates into their classroom learning and it helps them generate new ideas for solutions to our growing population," said instructor James Sustarsic Harvey.
