SCHS Scorpions Turn Their Tassels
On May 23, over 280 students received their diplomas from Sand Creek High School at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.
“As we stand on this starting line of a new chapter, remember that it is not a race,” said class president Senia Lee. “Don’t forget to live in the moment and take life slow.”
Maya Williams, student speaker, recited a poem for her fellow classmates. “Majority of what will make life not only meaningful, but significant isn’t going to be about you. It’ll be about what you do for someone else,” she said.
“Your path is yours, and it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s,” said student speaker Alyssa Diamond. “Don't forget to like your life, subscribe to your growth, and hit that notification bell for every new opportunity that comes your way.”
Elected staff speaker Nicholas Spaulding challenged the graduates to do what scares them. “Don’t stay still, keep moving, get up early, work late, continue to learn, don't fall to the complacency that so many have sunk their roots into.”
Choosing what to do with your life is an incredibly hard decision to make, especially when you just started truly living,” said student speaker Kylie Baker.“ Picking your forever shouldn’t be taken lightly, but you should take into account what you want rather than what you think you need.”
Congratulations to the SCHS Class of 2025!
