New BOE Public Comment Sign Up
Beginning with the April 10 D49 Board of Education meeting, people wishing to participate in the public comments will have the opportunity to sign up online before the meeting.
The BOE is introducing a new approach to better accommodate all members of the community who wish to speak at D49 BOE meetings.
“In the past, those who were able to arrive early to our meetings to sign up had priority to speak, sometimes displacing parents, students, teachers or community members who may have been at work or busy with students,” said BOE President Lori Thompson. “This new sign-in procedure will open a 24-hour window for all community members in order to have their voice heard."
A public comment link is available on the BOE webpage at www.d49.org/boe.
The link connects to BoardDocs, where there are two forms available: one for those who wish to speak at the upcoming meeting and another form for those who cannot attend, but would still like to share their thoughts on a topic.
The forms will be available 24 hours before a BOE meeting and will close a few hours before the meeting, usually 3 p.m. to 3 p.m.
