Gatlin Named Distinguished UCCS Alumni

Vista Ridge High School math teacher, Anneliese Gatlin, was presented a Distinguished Alumni Award at the UCCS College of Education’s 8th Annual Alumni and Friends reception in September. 

From UCCS: the honor was awarded to Gatlin for performing meritorious service that reflects the quality and advancement of the College of Education in her professional life. She has demonstrated and exhibited pride in her alma mater and the importance of her education at UCCS; she continues to possess evident interest and loyalty to her chosen profession – she is a certified difference maker.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award from the UCCS College of Education, as they played a vital role in setting the foundation for my teaching career,” Gatlin said. “After eight years of teaching, I truly could not accept an honor like this if it weren't for the incredible teammates, mentors, and students I am surrounded by, who have so integrally made me into the teacher I am today and continue to make every day in education worth it.” 

“Anneliese is a tremendous asset for the Power Zone and Vista Ridge High School,” said VRHS Assistant Principal Becki Sims.
