School Nurses
School Nurses
District 49 Registered Nurses cover more than one school. Each school has a designated full-time health room paraprofessional who works under the direction and license of the assigned Registered Nurse. Health room paras are NOT nurses, they receive training in basic first aid, CPR and medication administration. The school RN is in close communication with health room paras and accessible via district cell phone.

As of 24-25 School Year Charter Programs (Banning Lewis, PPSEL, Liberty Tree Academy, Mountain View Academy, PTAA, Grand Peak Academy) will not have D49 Health Services support staff (School Nurse/Health Assistant) under district 49. Charters will have their own staff hired under the charter program supporting health services. If you have questions regarding student medical needs at these charters, please contact the charter program directly to be connected with their school nurse.
