Construction Program

PHS Construction program

Location: Falcon Legacy Campus, 11990 Swingline Rd., Peyton, CO 80831
Overview: This program prepares students for a career in the skilled trades, including carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. Through partnerships with industry leaders, students gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art facility and participate in house builds, internships, and job shadowing.
Program Highlights:

  • Year 1: Construction Technology I – Basics of building trades, safety, and framing (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
  • Year 2: Carpentry Technology I – In-depth hands-on construction experience with tools and materials (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
  • Year 3: Construction Technology II – Leadership roles in house builds and advanced skills development (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
    Certifications: Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate and OSHA Training.

Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program

PHS Culinary program

Location: Falcon Legacy Campus, 11990 Swingline Rd., Peyton, CO 80831
Overview: This three-year program provides students with hands-on training in the food and beverage industry. Students learn food preparation, restaurant and hotel management, business skills, and hospitality planning while working in El Paso County's only fully operational high school-based commercial kitchen. The program includes real-world catering experience and leadership opportunities.
Program Highlights:

  • Year 1: Catering I & II – Basics of culinary skills, safety, nutrition, and commercial equipment use (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
  • Year 2: Culinary Arts I – Intermediate culinary skills, including stocks, sauces, and kitchen brigade roles (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
  • Year 3: Culinary Arts II – Leadership and advanced culinary skills with real-world catering experience (1.0 Practical Art Credit).
    Certifications: ServSafe Manager Certification.
