Andy Franko continues to serve as head of school at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy through the remainder of the 2014-2015 school year. During this time, he is beginning to coordinate with other district leaders and iConnect Zone staff memebers.
Franko has a long tenure in District 49 as an elementary educator, an award-winning coach and high school leader in addition to currently serving as head of school at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy.
Paul Austin, science educator at Patriot Learning Center, will use a $4200 Teachers and Technology grant from CenturyLink to purchase a 3D printer. Austin and his students will use the 3D printer to create different propellers in a boat drag racing unit. "Without this grant, there's no way we could do the tinkering phase of the project," said Austin. "It isn't cost effective and there's no way we'd be able to wait for a manufacturer to do that process for us."

"Gymnastics is easier to focus on because of the flexibility I have at Falcon Virtual Academy," said Jay Barnish, who recently qualified for the U.S. Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships. "I get more time in the gym when I need it because of the freedom."
