Welcome to New Trails!  The name says it all!  A way of learning that asks you to to move forward in your style while we explore new places together.  Movement Method isn't a new idea.  The neuroscience is just finally catching up to what we have always known.  Our bodies are connected to our brains. When we move and get outside, we activate the parts of the brain conducive to learning.  In New Trails, we focus on the human enviornment and the physical enviornment as the keys to opening the academic enviornment.  Interested in parent-nights, training, or certification in Movement Methods?  Follow this link:  Survey 

I'm extremely excited to dive into my 15th year as a teacher. My journey started in 2005 at Summit Elementary in Divide, CO and continues today here at Evans Elementary.  I'm excited to work with all grade levels in exploring our new innovation program, Movement Methods @ New Trails, which I feel is one of the best ways for students to learn.  Please click here to see a video of Movement Method in action.  Click here to take a tour of our indoor and outdoor classrooms.  Thank you to Woodman Valley Church for their continued efforts to grow and expand our outdoor areas.  (New landcaping coming April '21). I was drawn to Colorado by the same reason so many others came, the mountains, its beauty and the people. (Yes, all of we colorful ecclectic groups) It seems that the prairies, plains, and farmland of Iowa and South Dakota weren't enough to keep me home. I am an avid hiker, mountain biker, skier, and rugby player. Pretty much anything that pulls me outside.

Teaching has been in my family for decades, and I am proud to continue this profession here at Evans Elementary. I will bring my best efforts for the students at Evans daily, and I appreciate the opportunity to do so. Go Wildcats! Go New Trails!
