eLearning Update and Next Steps
Thank you for informing us of your plans for this school year. We are dedicated to providing the best learning experience for your student, whether it's in-person or online.
We have three teachers who will be providing online instruction:
-Jenna Whitson, grades k-1
-Meghan Cavaliere, grades 2-3
-Ingrid Tonneman, grades 4-5
If you've confirmed that your students will be eLearning, you will receive communication from your online teacher the week before school starts and you'll be invited to a Virtual Open House to get to know your teacher and the procedures and expectations.
If you don't have a device to complete your work, we can arrange to loan you one. Please contact our Media Specialist, Dave Chapman- dchapman@d49.org. In order to borrow a device, you'll need to submit this Student Issued Device Program Agreement.
If you are undecided about eLearning vs in-class learning, feel free to call us at 495-5299 and we can discuss the details of each option.
We look forward to working with you and your students this year!

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should my student be spending on E-learning each day?
- As a guideline to kick-off distance learning we are expecting students to spend 20-25 minutes on each of the three main content areas (reading, math, and science/social studies) each E-learning day (Tues-Fri).
Is attendance still being recorded?
- Yes, teachers will take attendance each morning for the previous day based on the expectations described in the "Attendance" section above.
What if I do not have access to a device for my child to work on?
- First, please reach out to your teacher and make them aware of the situation. Second, please look for the emails coming from the district in order to check out a computer. Devices will continue to be made available in the coming days.
What do we do if we are having technical issues with our borrowed district device?
-
A parent or student should reach out to their student’s teacher to report the tech difficulty.
-
The teacher will gather all necessary information to fill out a maintenance service request ticket with our IT customer service team.
-
The IT support team will process the maintenance service tickets.
