Back-to-School Announcements

  • July 21, 2020

    Dear SRES Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are certainly faced with a unique set of challenges as we open this school year.  We are particularly counting on a partnership with families to reopen our school. As we partner, we are counting on students to own their learning and develop character through responsible actions. We are counting on parents to learn new procedures/ protocols as well as model and encourage following them. We are counting on SRES staff to model, teach and find innovative and effective ways to do their job to maximize learning. And finally, we are counting on all of us to remain flexible, compassionate, and gracious.

We have several changes that you will want to be aware of as we reopen school. We are in the process of planning for families who are choosing a fully online option for learning. As we learn which families would like an online option, we may have to move students between classes to accommodate all students. We are also adjusting our physical space to accommodate families choosing in-person learning. We are updating our procedures such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, cleaning, recess, and our schedule to mitigate the best we can the spread of the virus. Please look out for additional communications about the details of these changes. We will communicate through email and will be updating our website with any new information. The district also has information posted at D49.org about reopening school.
