About Meridian Ranch Elementary School

  • Meridian Ranch Elementary School was established in 2005 and is located in the Falcon Zone of District 49 at 10480 Rainbow Bridge Drive in Peyton. Here at MRES we strive to inspire students through caring relationships and meaningful, student-centered learning opportunities.

    Mission

The mission of Meridian Ranch Elementary School, a high-achieving, innovative community that puts kids first, is to cultivate critical and creative thinkers, collaborators, and communicators by fostering personalized learning experiences within a safe and nurturing environment built on a foundation of relationships that embrace diversity and individuality for success in a global society.

    Learning and Instruction

At Meridian Ranch, all students receive academic and social instruction that encourages and supports a love for learning while mastering grade level content standards. The collective commitment provides a relentless focus on learning while ensuring success for all students. Faculty members encourage and embrace parent and community engagement, as they strive to create a learning community where all members are dedicated to fulfilling the school's mission. The Colorado Model Content Standards serve as the foundation for the instructional program. The school provides differentiated instruction using a variety of research-based programs. It incorporates inquiry-based instruction, technology integration and student participation in the arts and physical education.

    Extracurricular

The school is bustling with activity even after hours. It offers before and after-school band and choir programs. The school offers a technology club that meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school and Student Council meetings on Fridays. MRES is also proud to participate in Battle of the Books and also offers after-school opportunities on and off during the year, such as art clubs, science clubs, and the Landsharks running club.

    Community

Meridian Ranch Elementary has a supportive Parent-Teacher Association that sponsors many programs. It raises funds that help to support teachers with generous mini-grants and major school wide projects. Other PTA-sponsored events are Start The Art Night, school-wide assemblies, Veterans Day assemblies, various after school classes, as well as Muffins with Moms and Doughnuts with Dads. We also have a strong WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students) program, which includes volunteers who visit classrooms assisting teachers, walking the halls, and spending the day with students.

Portfolio of Schools

  • Portfolio of Schools District 49 will create a robust portfolio of distinct and exceptional schools.  It’s not enough just to have a bunch of different kinds of schools; the district needs to have high quality, exceptional schools.  District 49 strives to offer wonderful schools in all of its zones, schools that are different from each other and superior to the options students might have in neighboring districts and communities.

District 49’s board-approved strategic plan provides unified vision, goals and strategies to prepare students to achieve like never before.  Its strategic plan is organized around a big rocks metaphor.  If the district identifies and focuses on what's most important – its big rocks of trust, community, best district, portfolio of schools and every student – and then adds other things around them, the medium-sized rocks, and finally works in the pebbles, everything better fits together.  District 49 has applied this metaphor in its strategic plan, which identifies the district's Big Rocks.  These strategic initiatives will be emphasized over the upcoming years, representing the district’s commitment to its community.  These five rocks are its foundation for building an excellent future with its staff, students and greater community.
