iConnect FAQs

FAQs

What is the iConnect zone?

The iConnect Zone is an innovative zone of schools in District 49 that offers choice and flexibility when it comes to students’ learning styles. In the iConnect Zone, schools offer various learning opportunities and styles. Because of our mix of charter, hybrid, homeschool, and higher education schools, we can cater to the vast majority of students who may not choose to be in a traditional school environment.

Where is the iConnect Zone?

While the other three zones (Falcon Zone, POWER Zone, and Sand Creek Zone) are geographically grouped, the iConnect Zone is dispersed throughout the district. This can help accommodate families in multiple areas of the district and provide choices for the students.

What does the tuition look like for the charter schools in the iConnect Zone?

Our charter schools are FREE! While there may be fees that are paid throughout the school year, there is no overall tuition due from families. Our Free Public Charter Schools welcome families and students who are looking into nontraditional models of education.

How do I get enrolled at an iConnect Zone school?

We currently have 10 charter schools and four coordinated schools that you can apply to in our zone.

Charter Schools: While some require you to apply through the normal D49 registration link, others process their own applications. For the following District 49 Charter Schools: Grand Peak Academy, Liberty Tree Academy, Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning, and Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy, go to the registration tab on the District 49 website and Select Choice School option.

Please Note: The following Charter Schools process their own student registration applications. Please contact them directly: Banning Lewis, Rocky Mountain Classical Academy, Rocky Mountain Home School, Mountain View Academy, Power Technical Early Colleges, GOAL Academy.

Coordinated Schools: for the coordinated schools in our district, parents must attend an informational meeting to learn more about the school (hosted in January - July at the school's location).  After attending the informational meeting, families can fill out a pre-enrollment form through the school. Upon acceptance, families can take their acceptance letter either to D49 central registration or complete it online and register for the school, primarily if those families reside outside D49.

Who is a good candidate for an iConnect Zone school?

Any student can be a great candidate for one of our iConnect Zone schools. Depending on the student, there are various schools that can fit their needs. Looking into the different options can help you determine what school is best for your family/student.
