Mrs. Julia Huey currently works as the Math Interventionist at ALLIES (Academy for Literacy, Learning, and Innovation Excellence) in Colorado Springs, Colorado for students in 2nd-5th grades.  Mrs. Huey joined ALLIES in 2021.  She began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She has been teaching in one capacity or another since.  She is or has been a certified teacher in Virginia, California, and now Colorado.  

Mrs. Huey earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Child Development and Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2001.  She then received her Master’s of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and TBI (traumatic brain injuries) from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California (her hometown) in 2017.  She completed a training course for a RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) credential.  Although Mrs. Huey has thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of teaching, she truly loves working with the students and staff at ALLIES and considers it as finally finding her niche in education.
