Hello Students and Families!  My name is Jeffrey Miller, I teach Computer Technology at Falcon Middle School in Peyton, CO.  I was born in Motown, USA!  Detroit Michigan influential artists who found themselves making musical history in the likes of: Diana Ross & the Supremes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson & the Jackson 5, the Marvelettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Lionel Richie, The Commodores, Rick James, Teena Marie and so many more. As you can see, music is an important piece in my life!  I love it. I was in a band and part of a school band including the Symphonic, Varsity, Jazz, and Marching Band.  We played at all the football games, including "Let's Go Blue" during the games.  What great memories I will always cherish! 

Computer technology became a way for me to take my musical abilities to another level.  I used Garage Band, Band Lab, and Sound Trap to add layers to my music and realized that I could also pass this knowledge along to my students in addition to typing, coding, electronics, and programming.  I learned technology doesn't wait for anyone, we have to know how to adapt and embrace changes that come and go.  This includes continued education, certifications, and support.  I will make sure you understand what it looks like to be your best person at any level.  We will be learning many new concepts and why we need them to get a great job doing what you are interested in doing.

I wanted to let you know some background about your teacher.  In Middle School, I showed horses, worked on a farm, liked to skateboard, hung out with my friends, rode my bike, played baseball, soccer, Karate, and swimming down at the lake in the summer.  While attending Oxford High School, Oxford, MI, I played Alto and Tenor Sax, participated in the Marching Band and played in the Varsity Band, took Electronics for college credits, took pictures for the yearbook, earned my drivers license when I turned 16!  I was a camera operator for our school TV station called "Wildcat TV".  Most importantly, I loved hanging out with my friends, who I still talk with today!  I wanted to share some of my personal middle and high school experiences because I was once a student, just like you, same age, similar interests, and someone that just wanted to fit in and have fun doing it.

I earned my B.S.B.A. in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI. Yes!  I had the full college experience, which included living in the dorms, becoming a Resident Assistant, student president of the Grawn School of Business, and more importantly, I met my wife Amy! Then I earned my Professional Teaching License emphasis in Technology Education from Colorado State University - Pueblo. I am currently working towards my Masters.  Before Falcon Middle School, over the past 4 years, I taught computer technology at Chávez Huerta Preparatory Academy and related CTE Certifications. My education and experience has helped me build a foundation of what it's like to teach and help our students build a solid foundation for college opportunities.  I'm super eager to start the new year on a positive note as I know this is going to be a fantastic school year. 

Students find out very quickly that I love everything related to technology - computers and computer applications, 3D printing, the internet of things, how technology works, the history of technology, robotics, space exploration, engineering, sustainability and alternative forms of energy, and so much more.  I enjoy sharing my passion for technology and how technology of all kinds impacts us in our real world.

When I'm not in school, I'm constantly learning.  I love to research and am constantly exploring new concepts.  I'm often found with my nose in my toolbox working on my cars or tuning up our family's bicycles. I also love to hike in Chyenne Canon, DJ'ing for all occasions, camping, cooking, spending time with my family, especially outdoors.
