Mr. Kevin Gehret

In Midwest Ohio, born and raised in a corn field is where I spent most of my days.  I grew up in a small farm town, and then left to go to Cedarville University in another small Ohio farm town.  After graduation, I went off to my first teaching job at The High School Affiliated with the People's University of China in the University district of Beijing, China.  After a couple of years teaching and travelling in Asia, I returned to the United States and eventually enlisted in the U.S. Army where I served as an Explosive Ordanance Disposal (EOD) Specialist.  That is what brought me to Colorado.  I was honorably discharged out of Fort Carson, and stayed in Colorado to pursue my Masters in Education.  I started teaching in Colorado in 2015, and have been with Vista Ridge since February of 2021.  My emphasis has been history education and American Government.  I also sponsor Vista Ridge's Dungeon's and Dragon's club, and the Junior Optimist International Club.

When I am not at the school I devote my time to working with various Veteran's charities and organizations.  I enjoy spending time with my wife, traveling, fishing, and playing pool.  I'm a geek at heart and love anything related to Marvel and Star Wars.  In addition to sponsoring the D&D club here at school, I also play along with my friends as well.  I am also a history fanatic.  I spend a lot of time either reading about history or watching documentaries.
